SUMMARY:Getting Ready for Christmas | Ages 6-8
DESCRIPTION:A fun\, festive therapy group for kids! \nGet into the holiday spirit while building important skills! In this playful\, Christmas-themed group\, children will take part in hands-on activities such as decorating\, crafting\, practicing social skills and calming activities. \nThrough these meaningful and motivating holiday routines\, therapists will support children in developing fine motor skills\, sensory regulation through holiday-themed sensory play\, communication and social interaction (sharing\, turn-taking\, conversation)\, and confidence and independence in real-life seasonal tasks. \nSign up for one week or all four!\nWeek 1—Christmas Countdown Craft\nChildren will connect and warm up with a quick sharing circle\, followed by movement activities. Then we’ll create a Christmas countdown craft\, reflect on what Christmas means to us\, and finish with a “melting” cool-down. \nWeek 2—Letter to Santa\nChildren will connect and warm up with a quick sharing circle\, followed by movement activities. Then we’ll write a letter to Santa and explore gratitude\, finishing with a calming activity. \nWeek 3—Ornament Making\nChildren will connect and warm up with a quick sharing circle\, followed by movement activities. Then we’ll make a Christmas ornament\, reflect on patience\, and finish with a “Christmas stretch.”\n \nWeek 4—Cookie Decorating\nChildren will connect and warm up with a quick sharing circle\, followed by movement activities.
