Speech-Language Pathologist
(Barrie & Parry Sound)
We are looking for a dedicated, engaging, and experienced Paediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professional therapists.
Required Competencies:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology with experience in paediatric treatment/assessment.
- Be a registered member in good standing of the College of Registered Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- You demonstrate a solid understanding and compliance with College practice standards.
- You rock at working independently and collaboratively as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with booking software and virtual treatment is an asset.
- Ability to reliably commute to the clinic site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and treatment of individuals within the defined scope of practice of a registered Speech-Language Pathologist in Ontario
- Ensuring that informed consent is provided by the client/advocate.
- Necessary reporting within the standard set of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
- Supervision and/or mentorship of CDAs in accordance with CASLPO’s regulations and requirements.
- Responsible for completion of treatment plans and client goals.
- Abiding by known privacy and confidentiality laws
- Maintaining cleanliness of the clinic by sanitizing, putting items used back to original position and locking up, as necessary

Day Camp Group Leaders
(Summer 2023 – Barrie)
We are looking for a dedicated and engaging Camp Leader to assist the Camp Director by preparing, implementing and supervising volunteers and clients (“Campers”) for our Summer Day Camps.
Our programs run for 4 Weeks, between July and August 2023 and the position will be for a duration of 6 weeks, including preparation set-up and clean-up.

Key Responsibilities:
Day Camp Preparation:
- Assist camp director in preparing materials for camp; this includes purchasing, organizing, and preparing crafts, snacks, and decorations/props.
- Required to work both independently or with a group to complete tasks to meet camp deadlines. Examples of tasks include: making craft samples, trialing experiments, creating props/decorations for games or theme days
- Required to physically set up day camp venue, clean up and prepare for week 4 – 5
- Assist with orientation of volunteers
Group Leader:
- Responsible for greeting guardians and children each morning to sign them in and on departure to sign them out.
- Required to lead a group of 6 – 8 children and 1 – 2 volunteers through the daily camp routines and activities.
- Required to set up for the day, cleaning work/play areas after each activity and at the end of the day.
- Expected to have an awareness of each child’s goals which are listed on their registration form and discussed with the camp director. Must be prepared to assist each child as they work towards these goals.
- Responsible for connecting with parents to provide a verbal summary of their child’s participation after each day of camp.
- Collaboratively solve problems with the camp director through challenges that various campers may encounter.
- Need to maintain written documentation (i.e. log sheets) on each child to assist the camp director with mandatory reporting.
- All physical or behavioral incidents must be reported promptly to the camp director.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteering is an excellent way to gain experience, gain knowledge of paediatric programming and the health & wellness field. Our volunteer programs are a great way to earn high school community hours and College placement hours.
Summer Day Camp
(Summer 2023 – Barrie)
4 weeks available:
July 17 – 21 | Monday-Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
July 24 – 28 | Monday-Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
July 31 – August 4 | Monday-Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
August 14 – 18 | Monday-Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
Volunteers will be required to commit to one full week at a time (Monday-Friday).
Volunteers will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check.
